What's Wrong with this Picture?

They'd always been the best of friends;
As tight as smoke and fire.
But, secretly, she wondered why
They'd never taken it higher.

She'd known a few men of her own
But intimacy, of any kind,
Between them, was never shown.

"When it comes to passion," she asked.
"Why don't you think of me?"

Without hesitation, or doubt.
"I'd never consider getting that close
To someone I care about."
