velvet rose

I once was gifted a beautiful red rose
With petals softer as velvet
A neck high with pride
This promising scent of sweet love
A lovely lie
And I could have stared for hours
Tried to feed her with care
Water was rinsing in depth
Took her loveable beauty in my hands
Aching at once
Drips of blood - one, two, three
I forgot she had thorns...
