Such Is Change

The attempt at crafting a poem like anything else
has changed as a piece of my life
at first finding this forum was sweet salvation
a place for free expression
but also madness like "Waiting For Godot"
that perfect write that never comes

Despite what I considered a thick skin
from years of political adventures
I find that three "colleagues" still irritate me to no end
the first seems to think there is a narrow corridor
through which words must go to be truly poetical
takes issues with erotic verse
despite creating some of her own previously
and even today using rather risqué terms

The other two just come across as hypocrites
and have wide popularity
suggesting an openness to ideas and other authors
eating up adoring comments and praises
and then claiming a so called purity and faithfulness
in rejecting suggestions of collaboration

The fact that they all happen to be female
made me wonder maybe it is just me
perhaps I am an uncouth slob
void of decency, morals, or valor
but then to my surprise I found others
who have similar sentiments

Call me petty, call me trite
but even my view has changed
now rather then directing words towards them
I simply avoid their comments, competitions, and creations
so while I can say I still cherish the pursuit of the Holy Grail
that poem that is just right
my presence here is smaller

Dislike turned to indifference
a lack of a pulse going down certain roads
I find myself much lighter
since jettisoning components of my load....
