Just Once
1985 began with a bang
Well actually a kiss
That rolled into midnight bliss
It was my first New Years date
And the last as is my lonely fate
Thirty years watching that damn ball drop
No lips felt mine, no corks to pop
So I have one memory I cling to every time
In my mind I still hear your bedroom clock begin to chime
Like Heavenly bells, twelve times it bonged for all I ever longed
Like Hell hounds all night we banged in love where we belonged
Within our hearts within a week the passion was all gone
After all these years no one else has ever come along
To harmonize a kiss with me as the band begins to play the new year's song
