Police
[Quick Note] : I am not in any way disrespecting those who are good cops or know people that are I am simply explaining the problems that go on with bad cops in communities like mine or yours depending on where you're from.
Police brutatlity needs to be stopped and that is all the poem is about. ~

They call 'em the protectors,
the servers of the law,
the ones that are supposed to save us.
I say that's all a lie.
If they truly cared about our safety then tell me why they feel the need to kill every minority
and commit police brutality?.
They think just because they have authority that it's ok to go and gun down a child with a BB gun.
And then say he had it comin' when I say it's another death of an innocent black person.
Give them a badge and a gun they're ready to abuse their power.
Call 911, but they won't arrive till something's already been done.
But I know I'll be the one to say
Police ain't nothing but beasts,
Police ain't nothing but creeps,
Police ain't doing nothing but sleep.
They can't stand seeing car clubs rolling down the streets in their low riders,
going up and down and side to side,
representing their town.
Instead they'll stop 'em then slam them down to the hard ground and make sure to talk smack to them.
They feel the need to rough them up,
tough them up,
fuck them up,
and shove them into the back of their car.
They ain't easy on the ladies either.
A male cop stoppin' a girl driving who wasn't even speeding just so he can make her bend over his car and cop a feel on her body,
I guess it don't matter that it's against her will
Or better yet that she's under aged.
But I know I'll be the one to say
Police ain't nothing but beasts,
Police ain't nothing but creeps,
Police ain't doing nothing but sleep.
It don't matter if you're innocent or not they just enjoy putting on some security theatre for anybody who thinks you're a criminal.
Don't think they're beneath hurting family.
They did it to my mother,
They did it to my brother,
then they do it to another.
But I know I'll be the one to say

Ms. Jackson.. brilliant write.. so sad it's true, racial profiling needs to end.. despite differences in culture, or income, and environment.. we're all simply humans being.. hopefully someday we can truly experience peace, and harmony.. with love, and respect..

After hearing about the Tamir Rice case I started to think about the past other cases that involved innocent, young black kids getting shot by the police and not just kids but I also remembered this one case where this under aged girl was sexually assaulted by a male cop when he was " examining" her.
So this poem is about both racial profiling and cops abusing their power.

Interesting opinion piece. Shall I write about the anarchistic and masochistic nature of "Black Lives Matter" then? Black on black crime is a serious issue after all.

If you want, that does sound like a good idea for a poem but this poem is about other races as well not just black people.

I can feel you passion on this subject. I believe that you perceive this to be a big problem. I have never experienced this type behavior with an officer. I have never witness this type of behavior, so I am either lucky or this problem is less rampid than the media would have us to believe. I would say that when I turn on the news there seems to be a much larger problem within the community than the police. I respect your opinion and your experiences; well put together piece.

I think you're mainly lucky because you would be able to trust the police.
I don't have a problem with all cops necessarily, I mainly hate it when certain cops abuse their power and act like they can do whatever they want because they have a badge. The main one I know that has had problems with the cops was my older brother and every time they would hassle him it would be just because of the kind of car he had ( he drives low riders) and they would think he stole it. But I'm glad you respect my opinion and my experiences. Thanks for reading :)
