She is and was the Storm

Sudden, fearless and aggressive, she was thrown in your life like a storm. You saw the clouds heading towards you but it wasn't until you were drowning in her aura that you realized there was no stopping her storm nor the desires that she sent through your body, shocking you like lighting.

In the midst of the storm, she was a still silence.

She was enclosed inside metal walls. And for the longest time, you stood outside it as you looked for any possible point of vulnerability to penetrate, just to know what goes on behind her sly smiles. You needed her.

You craved her every essence.

She wanted to remain hidden but she didn’t know that even when she acted so guarded, she was dropping little pieces of herself, making a trail to her heart, around those metal walls. It didn’t take long before you turned her world around.

She let you in and you felt exhilarated.

Suddenly, you were the name that inhibited her drunken mouth, the hot chocolate that heated her body, the shot of espresso that made her palpitations rapid, the nicotine taste that her throat was longing for and the craving that never gets satisfied.

You collected all the gentleness in the world and offered it on her hands.

You pulled out rainbow colored affection from her stormy sky and let your sun beam on every inch of her skin, until her skin glowed with light. She thought that this was it, this was where her story finally made sense.

The storm then came at full force with doubts raining over her head.

Little by little, she felt how it seemed like she couldn’t breathe whenever you were not around. How she told you she missed you when you were just five inches away. How she tightly held your hand so you wouldn't leave.

She was drowning in the midst of your colors and light.

The brightness of your love began to blind her. She was losing herself.

She didn't want to love anymore.

She didn't want to feel the craving of your skin against hers; the need of being tied at all times at your hip. She wanted a dose of antidote for the love poison that made her weak in her knees. She wanted to be strong.

The storm brought a flood of the thoughts.

She began to build her walls once more and began to find faults in your love. She wanted to know why she did not need you. She wanted to know why it will eventually end and why someday the effort put will mean nothing. Her touches became ice cold. Your words began to sound like old records. Her gazes looked right past you.

Your sun's rays could not get through her grey clouds so easily anymore.

You saw her cheeks remain their color when they once turned pink as you kissed them. You saw the stillness of her eyes but you turned your head, hoping your sun would revive her sad eyes.

And you thought maybe it was never really love.

The storm she brought began to clear. She was moving away from you. Your clouds began to turn from grey to white, your sky from grey to blue and your sun began to shine all the way through you.

Her storm left for your sun to remain alive.

You wanted to her to come back, to stand under her thunderstorm, to fight against it for her. But she walked away from you, her greatest casualty, with your heart in her bloody hands.

Never love a broken soul, for after the storm they never return.
