The Big Picture

Anger has its own agenda
Despite all you’ve been told.
It lives for the sake of conflict,
And chafes at being controlled.

Hate hasn’t anger’s candor.
It’s more of a backseat scold.
When it’s alone it holds its tongue;
But, in crowds, it's exceedingly bold.

Love’s a mercurial creature,
That has plagued us since days of old;
Bequeathing the taste of ashes
When its ardent flame goes cold.

Me for the realm of reason,
Where emotions are mere fool's gold,
And rational judgments reign supreme
As impassive wolves in the fold.
