Butterfly Please
Sometimes while sittin' & thinkin' alone
In the darkness I can hear you whisper low
Of clouds forever blowin'
Never knowing when to stop floatin' all alone...
Sometimes in the moonlight, I can dream
'Till the sunshine comes to chase them all away
With the dawning of a new day
Leaving only emptiness & harsh reality....
Butterfly, please don't drift away
There won't be another day
For us, and the Autumn comes too soon-
Butterfly, believe me when I say
There won't be another day
For us, and I feel the Autumn's gloom.
Sometimes when I'm dreamin' my dreams alone
In the shadows of my mind you whisper low,
Never letting go
As you taunt my palsied soul...
Sometimes when a dream begins to fade
There's another to fill the role, or maybe try,
But we know when one has died
By the tears left in it's place....
Butterfly, please don't dance away
There won't be another day

From us, I'll be lost in my cocoon.

Reading over this later, checking out the rythm of the rhymes within the rythm, i wonder if there's not a subliminal messesge in the last word of each line...?
