left, right, or straight?
full tank of gas and a cellphone
blunts rolled and a friend to pass them
radio on and a good station up
society nothing but a fading memory
driving where, we have no clue
just wherever these dirt and gravel roads take us
with nothing but the stars and God if he exists
watching over our wandering body and soul
winding around in unending circles
dead ends next to mysterious shacks
abandoned cemeteries with broken signs
lit only by headlights and maybe the moon
left, right, or straight? we don't know
a split second decision that changes our night
confused and lost but so enraptured
in this winding passageway we've found
escaping the civilized world and all its lies
into the hidden life within these ghostly roads
just me and you with all our teenage hopes and dreams
intoxicated by the high of mystery
blunts rolled and a friend to pass them
radio on and a good station up
society nothing but a fading memory
driving where, we have no clue
just wherever these dirt and gravel roads take us
with nothing but the stars and God if he exists
watching over our wandering body and soul
winding around in unending circles
dead ends next to mysterious shacks
abandoned cemeteries with broken signs
lit only by headlights and maybe the moon
left, right, or straight? we don't know
a split second decision that changes our night
confused and lost but so enraptured
in this winding passageway we've found
escaping the civilized world and all its lies
into the hidden life within these ghostly roads
just me and you with all our teenage hopes and dreams
intoxicated by the high of mystery
