When I apply a metaphor to the poem, the words are so evocative- when I get a bit more literal, the poem is a disturbing. The body erotic certainly can correlate to some bad habits. A riveting write.
Cutting, that's something I dabbled in for a time when I was much younger. I didn't know it had a name, and the scars I have left only show when my skin is exposed to the sun when it's very warm outside. They don't take on any color, so they show up pale and colorless. Scars that are reminders of when my mind had turned cold to what it was all about... why I did these things. It just seemed... natural to me at the time, so long ago.
There's more than one way to cut.
For me, drugs lead to needles and needless to say, the scars left in the wake of that time of loss Will remain forevermore. They also stand as a reminder of who I was and never want to become once more. My scars, track a process, of growth and development.
