Haiku your day - Competition hosted by MadameLavender
Saturday
Anticipation
Tasting, not yet devouring
Dancefloor liaison
Sunday
Branches almost bare
Leaves and beechnuts largely gone
Squirrels' ear tufts soaked
Monday
News about Paris
Shocked and numbed, public standstill
Tears come slow but hard
Tuesday
You'll never break us
Just strengthen our resistance
Compassion our arms
Wednesday
Unexpected call
Old familiar paths rerun
Mutual pleasure
Thursday
Afterwork party
Displaying togetherness
French and German peers
Friday
Work and groceries
Not a break from morn to dawn
Weekend is longed for
Anticipation
Tasting, not yet devouring
Dancefloor liaison

Paris is a tragedy. As I'm working with many French colleagues the attacks have been the topic of the last days. We will not surrender to terror.
Thanks for your kind words, John.

I am touched by the poignancy of this piece. How life can run such a gambit in one week's time. From dancing to mourning in the blink of an eye interspersed with interludes of serenity, solidarity and passion. Bravisima Miss Chi!

Awww, thank you so much for your insightful and perceptive comment :-). I apprecieate it!
It was an eventful week and writing those haiku for the competition was fun on the one hand and painful on the other.
Just as life itself ...
