remembering a moment at 5am
standing in the dark facing him

awake i had been for quite a while
found him out there and got a smile

warm close hugs felt so fine
it didn't matter what the time

how i wish we could have mingled
but at the time enjoyed the tingle

parting so we could go back to sleep
till the morning when we'd meet

another 5am awakening today
but he wasn't out there to say Hey

next time i see him and get a refill
