A Panting Pantoum (and more)
-------------------------------------
heartbeats thrum in throats
silent moments tick
fingers fumble coats
nervous gooseflesh prick
silent moments tick
buoyant hearts, they swell
nervous gooseflesh prick
bound within this spell
buoyant hearts, they swell
dawn breaks halcyon haze
bound within this spell
caught within your gaze
dawn breaks halcyon haze
fingers fumble coats
caught within your gaze
heartbeats thrum in throats
-------------------------------------
5 a.m. and lovedrunk
I fell into your arms
as lashes crashed to
cheeks
that pressed
tight
against your chest
I heard the
thunder rumble
grumbling timbre of
your touch
ring on heartstrings
accarezzévole
plucked
-------------------------------------
A nineteen hour
date-turned-sleepover
falling asleep
just hours before
we might normally
awake.
A day in bed,
and only a few
hours apart
before a tender
goodnight call.
Best 26 hours
in a long time.
