Monster Ink

Dim the lights...
...And still your heart
Realize, and embark on, what some might describe as...Unfamiliar
Quietly look, but peer for naught...Just surrender
With the utmost alarm, you must feel in the dark, what so many have thought...
Could be real, though, should not
Embrace, what patiently awaits, in night's coal, black vault
...As was intended
Beyond all limits...Mysterious, and transcendent
For your nervous soul, to truly know, how skittish is your spirit
Capricious, as it fidgets...Allowing the breath & the scope of your entire being
Be exposed, as a whole, to what fear is...
Stare into the horror, while you visualize the fright come upon you...In volumes
Watch how it swallows, your futile resistance...
While it insists on, taking your eyes
And in this instance, that consists of, making them mine
For a short period of time...
With a myriad of lies based on the infinite truth
From a wisdom aloof, just out of view, and withdrawn from the wise
Gives sight to blind sides, peripherally askew
In lieu of this residue, drips the remnants of shadows...Or more specifically, the excess of you
Unilaterally, yet haphazardly, we've all been wiped
Front to back for the chicks...A shake or two for the guys
Shifts long lost minds, playing tricks...Under the guise of pure myth
But this Shit isn't pretend...It's the genuine friend of maggots & flies
It's just around the bend, where you've never been
Disguised, as some horrific surprise
The Beast is alive!!!
Much to Mankind's chagrin...
Standing twelve-foot-ten, with olive green skin and teeth, sharp as knives
Cloaked beneath an objectionable coat of terrified, virgin brides
Lurks both, my Jekyll, and extraterrestrial Hyde
There's lions, tigers, and bears
Then...There's, "Oh My!"
A GIANT...Tied to a little man's world
Who finds you hiding...Who you confide in...Sometimes when, The One keeps on going...
...So I dye in this poem
This epic sojourn, borne from...
...Monster Ink
