GIVE ME A PENCIL
GIVE ME A PENCIL
Let me sit down where it’s quiet
With only the sound of a stream
Show me a place full of flowers,
And I will create you a dream
Sail me across a blue ocean
With a breeze blowing soft on my face
Give me a pencil to write with
To tell you about a fine place
Lead me to where you are going
Let me take hold of your hand
Throw me a line when I need it
Don’t let me sink in the sand
Tell me, where I can find it
A meadow with grass lush and green
Give me a pencil to draw it
Where beauty and culture are seen
Take me the way that you find me
Imperfections perfections as well
Point me the best way to heaven
I deserve so much better than hell
Ask me to write you story
And all of my time I will lend
But give me a pencil to write it
A novel from beginning to end
