6:31 pm to the end
No one looks good under airport lights
the whites are too harsh and the yellows are sickly looking
People stand about, awkwardly alone; out of place
Everyone's hiding from something; usually who they are.
The darkness without presses within, breaking through the
barrier we try to put between the neighbors around us.
Departure windows flash "goodbye"
You where never here. Surprise. Surprise.
Ears plugged with wires we sleep. Another barrier for the
darkness to break down.
Time will eat us all.
Violently. savagely
The morning breaks to a cold dawn.
The emptiness sticks closer to the corners than the employees
are willing to clean.
It builds and consumes. Making this place all the more desolate.
People flee alone; to and fro
Gate B departs before C arrives.
Another passenger lost.
