Set the Table
Abused privilege,
Or a microcosm of something much worse,
You claim divine intervention with your lesser renditions of faith,
Hands folded to cover both of our eyes,
Cowering,
Vulnerable,
Sightless,
Three times I counted,
These things I cannot comprehend,
In this Ignorant self indulgence,
Prodigal delusions are envisioned.
Alas, your allure is wasted on me,
Mentor me not with your false tongues,
You may be blind,
But I can see.
Or a microcosm of something much worse,
You claim divine intervention with your lesser renditions of faith,
Hands folded to cover both of our eyes,
Cowering,
Vulnerable,
Sightless,
Three times I counted,
These things I cannot comprehend,
In this Ignorant self indulgence,
Prodigal delusions are envisioned.
Alas, your allure is wasted on me,
Mentor me not with your false tongues,
You may be blind,
But I can see.
