Hopeless Fools (Lovers)

I stand here every night
beneath this old oak tree
with this old gray wolf
we howl together.

I howl for you
and he
howls for the moon.
I thirst for your love
and he
thirsts for the moon's.

"Stop these cries you hopeless fool."
I told him once
"The moon will never fall form the sky for you
she is busy being beautiful for the whole world to see
and damn you, a light as bright as hers was never created to be owned by only one."

The wolf had then told me the same.

As I, he was right
but for some fucked up reason in our veins
we still stand beneath this old oak tree
two hopeless fools in love
howling
for the skins we will never lick.
