Red Flag

It's been several weeks since we've made love.

Our tenderness dissolves into a prison stale

When we lay in this cold bed

I stare at the architecture of your distant spine

Your body becoming the wall that keeps me from reaching you

Feeling though as if I wrapped my arms around your cruel shoulder,
surely, snipers will shoot me down

It's been several months since we've made love.

The winter that stretches between us Is infinitely hollow even when were a few inches away

You are a ghastly reminding mask of someone that used to care

Our steps of avoidance slice into stride like knife wounds

I cannot sleep in a mire of bitterness

Time pokes wickedly at my gums counting towards my nightly grave

It's been years since... Ok.

I lie.

It has only been one day since we last made love

I think we should get naked

Why take a chance that this could escalate?
