September Lover

That one night when we first met,
you smiled at me as I smiled back.
We talked about each other till you had to leave, but before you left you promised me you would talk to me later.
No other lover has ever stolen my heart like you did,
No other love of mine has ever treated me like the way that you did,
No other lover had ever lit up my world the way that you did,
but alas farewell went my September lover.
Beautiful with a youthful soul, every inch of you was simply wonderful.
We'd talk from night till dawn as we would giggle and laugh like little kids while talking about our wishes, our fantasies, and the things we would want to do together in the future.
So pure and so very innocent as we talked about our favorite memories.
I felt so safe with you, you were my night and shinning armor, my Peter Pan,
my Superman, my man, my everything, but tell me why did it all have to end?.
No other lover has ever stolen my heart like you did,
No other love of mine has ever treated me like the way that you did,
No other lover had ever lit up my world the way that you did,
but alas farewell went my September lover.
I was there for you and you were there for me as well,
through thick and thin you were there as you took away the hurt,
you took away the pain as I took away yours.
The walls that I built to block everyone's way you managed to beat them down as you saw me to the core of who I am and not what everyone else thought I was.
Months later we have come to find we are no longer you and me,
I guess September and November were never meant to be together nor love each other.
So as you look at your tear stained cake I hope you at least think of me once when I say
No other lover has ever stolen my heart like you did,
No other love of mine has ever treated me like the way that you did,
No other lover had ever lit up my world the way that you did,
but alas farewell went my September lover.
