In the dark
His arm is around my waist.
He kisses my forehead as I close my eyes.
Nothing ever felt like this before
He holds me tighter.
But only for a moment.
He lets me go
In the darkness of the night
My door creaks open
As he slips through the crack and out into the shadows
My eyes flutter open for a moment
"Don't worry" I say
"He wouldn't leave. Not like that"
I'm still waiting
I'm still hoping
To see you walk through that door and back into my life.
He kisses my forehead as I close my eyes.
Nothing ever felt like this before
He holds me tighter.
But only for a moment.
He lets me go
In the darkness of the night
My door creaks open
As he slips through the crack and out into the shadows
My eyes flutter open for a moment
"Don't worry" I say
"He wouldn't leave. Not like that"
I'm still waiting
I'm still hoping
To see you walk through that door and back into my life.
