Thank You Letter To My Hero/Heroin

Dear old friend,
one small teardrop rolls gently down my face unto the paper as I scribble this letter;
I know not your name but I’m grateful,
sometimes it makes me want to cry when I recall what I went through,
lying in that hospital bed with my failing breath as my oxygen-deprived lungs gave up, doctors said I didn’t have long on this earth.

But you came through for me,
you gave me another prospect;
a not-so-small plastic packet filled with red liquid life that gushed through my arteries and veins once again.
I cannot,
but help to fall down on my thankful face as my heart swells for you with eternal gratefulness,
I’ve pondered of ways to repay you
and writing this letter and putting it in a bottle and sending it to you through ocean waves, hoping it finds you,
seems okay.
If I could catch a rainbow for you,
I would and I’d share with you its beauty on the days that you're feeling blue;
for you are the charming gardener who made my soul blossom once again.

Looking back 1095 days later I ponder if our paths will ever cross,
or if they had already;
though it seems insufficient,
all I can say is,
Thank You.
