Subtle sleep
The life waiting awake
Screams in, breathing to take
Death was, death is condescending
Floating in, a fruitless mending
Heart apart and scarred
Eye's rolled, and scared
Has this soul yet come alive?
Transforming into, reawakening
Should an emptiness consume breaking
Building new walls, every breathe taking
Death was, death is condescending
Life looming, illuminating
Has this life yet died?
And circulated around its dead
Until life is set and unsaid
Have you also noticed blinking
A meek breath sparking
A decomposing spirit
They could not hear it
Every asking ear lingers
And paints upon its tombstone
She is, she was condescending
He is, he was condescending
Alluring each life whispered
Beneath the grave, so above
Dying in bitterness, also in love
A better resurrection; a light
Has life yet to arise
Surprise the light behind your eyes.
