I lay leaden
body soaking into sheets
pooling beneath
open lids that
immediately retract back
lashes loving cheeks
Go back to sleep.

This poem is quite remarkable. On the surface of it, I see an almost irresistible enticement to sink back into the depths of sleep. But, there is more to this than immediately meets the eye to my mind.
First, your title is an injunction to be awakened. And, the language you use to describe yourself within that opening stanza is almost ominous, reminiscent of death, mayhap?
In the second stanza, the air is slightly less redolent of death, more of a near-incapability to relinquish sleep (something reminds me here of stories told by my grandmother of sleeping sickness she encountered as a nurse missionary in Sierra Leone long years ago), though there is a lightness, a hope imbued with the line
"lashes loving cheeks"
Ominous returns, though, in that final line with
"Go back to sleep."
Either this is an internal injunction, voluntary, or one involuntary (disease driven or otherwise?). Hmmm... So very many avenues for speculation in such a seemingly innocuous poem. ;-D
