By Silence Defined
You say that you still love me
When you come to me at night.
Turn head by day and look away,
A deviant's delight.
The flesh you give that I once lived
For, you still long to share.
But I will not dance that sweet spot
Knowing who else plays there.
Public silence my punishment
For proudly loving you;
I'll bear that shame and stake my claim
On the reward I'm due.
Turn you away and ache forever,
Over dreams once held...
But ne'er count twice the going price
Of destinies compelled.
No, take your tempt and polish it
To someone else's yearn.
I'll not play part your craven art
Of insatiable burn.
But your silence return tenfold...
...To shock of emerald eyes.
...To curses flung and demise sung
Upon your bed of lies.
I question not that you've loved me,
But that you've loved at all?
As soul withers, as you slither
Away to your next thrall.
Till dried up lust forsakes all trust,
As blackness takes the mind...
May your last days become a haze
Of silence you defined.
