Take Away
I wish I could
take the hurt away.
I really had no idea;
your pain until today.
I wish I could just
take it all from you,
Wish you could forget,
what you'd been through.
To be the child, you
were supposed to be.
Sweet, innocent and happy.
Never having to witness
such deeds, never in your
mind planted the seeds.
Of those memories that
haunt you to this day.
I wish I could just
take the hurt away.
Never would have known
what you'd been through.
Had you not shared
that part of you.
Your shiny eyes
and warm smile,
hide the pain and
the trials, that you
endured as a child.
Some might call
you damaged, bruised
and used.
I call you strong, for
having refused;
to allow the hurt
to destroy you.
You kept yourself
together, held true
and weathered through.
Although I wish I could
take the pain away,
It is the reason you
are who you are today.
A wonderful woman, loving
mother, and a friend.
Someone who will always
love and be true to the end.
