Ancient War

There once was a sky
so beautiful and blue
shed skin to the moon
to see the galaxy
at our doorstep

Under the sky
lies forgotten beings
Stand tall like buildings
monuments of leaves
immortal blood
soon to be poisoned by man
the cancer
taking life that is sacred

I feel mother reaching
out of the ground
and wrath like bullets
Fall from the clouds

The parasite will win
but the vessel will be lost in time
