This Cold WInd
This is a truly old poem that I was reading over and thought I'd share.
This cold wind
Surrounds my brittle bones
Tired wings
Can’t carry all the weight alone
A memory of the sun
Is all I have left in my mind’s eye
This cold and tired orb
Doesn’t warm me with its fire
Fire burnt so low
Like spirits dancing in the wind
The flame can lick your hand
And never burn your skin
Winter's freeze
Is promised on the wind
Oh the wind
This cold wind
This cold wind
Surrounds my brittle bones
Tired wings
Can’t carry all the weight alone
A memory of the sun
Is all I have left in my mind’s eye
This cold and tired orb
Doesn’t warm me with its fire
Fire burnt so low
Like spirits dancing in the wind
The flame can lick your hand
And never burn your skin
Winter's freeze
Is promised on the wind
Oh the wind
This cold wind
