Break Room Blues
Twanged out hip hop
On the radio
Too much treble
Ringing through
This raggedy place
I've made my second home
You walk in the door
And steal my drink
And grab me as I walk by
I glare at you
But we both know
From my mischievous smirk
That I like it
Secretly I'm wondering
What these off-white walls
Feel like against my back
With your hands around my neck
And how much the counter
Would shake and crack
My aching mind
Half delirious from routine
Is happy when
Our schedules coincide
But I'm wishing
I could let you inside
On the radio
Too much treble
Ringing through
This raggedy place
I've made my second home
You walk in the door
And steal my drink
And grab me as I walk by
I glare at you
But we both know
From my mischievous smirk
That I like it
Secretly I'm wondering
What these off-white walls
Feel like against my back
With your hands around my neck
And how much the counter
Would shake and crack
My aching mind
Half delirious from routine
Is happy when
Our schedules coincide
But I'm wishing
I could let you inside
