Rejection
I wanted critique
A positive seek
Criticisms constructive
Not deliberate destructive
I wanted an edit
It was clear that he read it
But not with my eyes
So why my surprise
The lines had been ravaged
The words he had savaged
He ripped out its heart
And tore it apart
A written tongue lashing
He removed any passion
A reaction knee jerk
He butchered my work
Marked a rejection
With red pen correction
Called a poetic fail
In a soulless email
My poem lay battered
Slashed and blood splattered
Ink I could no longer see
As something written by me
His attack, would now be ignored
The crap and the bile he outpoured
Critics are usually failed writers
Deliberate misery inciters
Failed and still on the shelf
Because they simply can’t do it them self
