The Most Beautiful Thing
She kept her heart placed on her sleeve
Unaware it was the most beautiful thing
Specters stared as she walked by
No tears
Nor fears
In her innocently naive eyes...
She had a blind-spot a mile wide...
She didn't see the signs...
How could she have known
His heart didn't work like her own
So when her perfectly placed heart broke
Pieces of it flew into the world...
It was the most beautiful thing
Constellations that could light up nations
Just some of the wonders kept locked inside
Now broken open
After sipping love's potion
A path to rise was surely chosen
Now she finds pieces of her heart
Spread along the shores...
And in unfamiliar places
She'd never been before...
Each time re-stitching stars...
Each time collecting shards...
Each time raising the bar...
It was the most beautiful thing
Though it will never be what it was before
Her heart remains placed on her sleeve
-Forever more
She loves like an open door
And it's The Most Beautiful Thing
Unaware it was the most beautiful thing
Specters stared as she walked by
No tears
Nor fears
In her innocently naive eyes...
She had a blind-spot a mile wide...
She didn't see the signs...
How could she have known
His heart didn't work like her own
So when her perfectly placed heart broke
Pieces of it flew into the world...
It was the most beautiful thing
Constellations that could light up nations
Just some of the wonders kept locked inside
Now broken open
After sipping love's potion
A path to rise was surely chosen
Now she finds pieces of her heart
Spread along the shores...
And in unfamiliar places
She'd never been before...
Each time re-stitching stars...
Each time collecting shards...
Each time raising the bar...
It was the most beautiful thing
Though it will never be what it was before
Her heart remains placed on her sleeve
-Forever more
She loves like an open door
And it's The Most Beautiful Thing
