You know, there's something to be said
When gay rights outweigh the black man's
Now let's be clear
I'm all for love winning
But don't forget the other battle we're in
Love is a beautiful thing
Sadly, love isn't prevailing
Not when it comes to the color of our skin
People are too easily distracted
Can't figure out which issue to handle
Churches being shot up
Burned to the ground
Shouldn't we at least be safe
In God's house
We can't walk down the street
With skittles in our hand
We can't breathe
We can't make a stand
We are not free
And truth be told, barely legal
I can't understand
Why after all these years
This issue is still around
So much hatred
Violence, retaliation
All the while no one sees
That this method solves nothing.
