She was the one that got away
But he actually pushed her away
She put her heart on the line
All he did was bleed her dry
She gave him too many times
To come back and keep trying
Too many nights she cried
And he couldn't even apologize
He knew he was her all
She was completely enthralled
He knew she gave everything
But it was never good enough for him
He forgot to show her what she meant
He didn't value the time they spent
He forgot to show her love and affection
Too busy giving others all his attention
He had no clue he pushed her too far
She couldn't take any more
She was God's gift to him
She was his blessing
And when he finally realized it was her all along,
She was long gone.
