How to Dehumanize
I idolize
I will put you on a pedestal
the blueprints are solid but i'm building you
up on sinking sand
I will fancy you a savior
dream you a saint
I will swear that I know you can sin like the best of
them
but I will put you on a pedestal.
I will pretend the cracks in the mold are just
"signs of character"
edginess.
jagged.
I will try to caress your edges
fool myself into thinking my fingertips are sandpaper
I will draw red.
My words will rip you from your throne
bring down the mountain of you like dynamite
I will collect my misconceptions,
sweep the remnants of my naivete into a box marked
