White Noise
I slip into slumber to the sounds of thunder
Digitally rumbling into my soul
While the ebb and flow of distant rain
Trickles against eardrums like drip drops down old paint
My thoughts are softly whispered to sleep
Into the land of the soothing deep
And the image of her smile I tenderly keep
Close to the heart of my memory
Letting it steep like a calming tea
Hopefully to percolate into my dreams.
