The Dead and the Damned

Broke down and broke up
Hung up and hungover
Your face is just makeup
Back to work, breaks over

In this absence of life
I wandered until I lost myself
I changed myself without a surgeon or a knife
My innocence gathers dust on my top shelf

Now the only ones who know me
The way I truly am
Are the ever so lonely
The Dead and the Damned

The Dead crave to live in flame
The Damned try to die
To end the sensation
As well as I

The parting of familiarities
Has left me cold
The rejection of my sincerity
Has made me old

And now the only ones who know me
The way I truly am
Are the ever so lonely
The Dead and the Damned

The damned moan, they wail
The dead know not
That they're trapped behind a veil
And will forever rot

And the source of this austerity
This great divide
Is one of great rarity
And will now forever hide

And now the only ones who know me
The way I truly am
Are the ever so lonely
The Dead and the Damned
