The Spectacular Nature of Modern vs. Vintage
Staring at my vintage watch circa 1965
Stainless Steel was real back then
Not like the plated shiny shit
they use today
Our modern world
is an imitation of its once great self
Insist on quality
You'll never go wrong there
I'm an older bloke
I see reality for what is
Not so much sentimental
Just pragmatic as the day is long

i don't want to waste the good stuff on a quick trip to drunk town. so i'll go with something a bit cheaper, but still tastes good.

Re: The Spectacular Nature of Modern vs. Vintage
The older I get, the more disturbed (lightly-put) I get on the definition of "vintage" ..*lil' fume
Now, those vintage radio/bar cabinets? They had the right idea! Funny, I actually started a poem about my bar glasses the other night...cabinet is '39-40's w/a thin silver ring around all the glassware. sweet!
Enjoyed your we-settle fer-less-now-ah-dayz poem!
winx ;)

I too have a love for older things of quality and craftsmanship - the only way you're gonna get that kind of quality is if you are a millionaire -
unfortunately I am not :-)
excellent write I enjoyed and was able to identify with its sentiments
