When I’m BACK ON MY FEET AGAIN
We are all fallible none is holy
When you look at me scornfully
My beauty you don’t appreciate
Towards me your heart is filled with hate
You despise my words” whenever I speak
Before you, I’m vulnerable and weak
My fragile soul you torment daily
The life I live, you feel is unworthy
With your tongue whipping my tender skin
Your disgust for me is like that of God towards sin
I’m not worthy of your love and compassion
You hate the fact that I’m God’s creation
I’m a humorous object for your amusement
You live in a mansion while I dwell in the basement
You consider yourself an epitome of grace
Unjustly you judge me by the look on my face
Unfairly you treat me without mercy but disdain
You brag about your prowess in causing me pain
But just remember, no condition is permanent
My voice you try to suppress but I won’t be silent
Just remember, when I’m back on my feet again
The dignity you stole from me I will surely regain
Just remember when I’m back on my feet again
My tears and sorrows will be washed by the rain
Just remember when I’m back on my feet again
I will rise above your evil entrapment to shine
When I’m back on my feet again, I will be strong & fine
No more will I be the victim, victory will be mine
When I’m back on my feet again I will never bow down
Yes!! You will have to recognise my glory and crown
When I’m back on my feet again, you will realize
Like a phoenix does from the ashes I will arise
What goes around comes back around that’s a fact
When I’m back on my feet, I will be a hard nut to crack
