I told my boss once that I feared success surprisingly he didn't fire me ...

Someone told me once that I was not afraid of failure but success. So I tried it and it wore me out and drained me of "friends" one by one. (It's not the people who support your failures that love you; it's those who support your successes). Now the only success I care about is happiness; the only moment is now. Great write.

I fear everything. Consistency works well in this regard ...

It seems there are those who chase success and those of us who fear it. For me the fear extends to the potential of it changing who I am as a person, which I personally loathe the idea of. Even though I like to tell myself I wouldn't let it go to my head, I understand that all humans are susceptible to corruption, and I never want to be the type of egomaniac, greed infested person I despise. I guess it's all about believing humility can be maintained, at least for me. So yes, fear of success is something I can strongly identify with. This is a great piece and I'm glad you shared, if only to know that others, too, have the fear of succeeding too much. Fantastic write.
