Love in the Dark
Left in the dark,
left to cry,
left to die
alone in the dark.
I loved you then,
but you were never my friend
you left me alone
to cry
to die
in the dark.
The band plays
to see me off
as I fade away
into the dark
a hole, you made of my heart.
You're left alone
as the band plays on
crying, dying,
left to fade into the dark,
into the hole you made
of your own heart.

Outstanding work, the way this poem was so well written and the pain of a heart break mix with deep sorrow that creates this dark heart breaking experience. Wonderful job :)

Thank you!! :) and I never really made the conscious connection with the hole in the heart thing. But this does happen often when I do not fully understand the scope of what I am doing or writing. But my unconscious sort of pulls together the idea behind the words for me. I guess I need to look back at all of my poems and try to figure out how screwed up I am :P
