Trying to Be
Is it lame
That I crave
To kiss your face
In the same way
I did that day?
Is it wise
For me to fantasize
About falling into your eyes
While I desperately disguise
The words I say?
For fear I'm too intense,
Overwhelming every sense
Putting you on the defense
As things get too dense
Until you push me away...
But it's true;
I do
Want you
In my arms
So tight,
Day and night,
It just feels right
Within your charms.
I'm finally
Accepting
It's okay to dream,
I'm finally
Believing
It's okay
To try to be happy.
I'm trusting
You to be
Whatever you want to be
And trying
To be happy
With whatever
That means.
That I crave
To kiss your face
In the same way
I did that day?
Is it wise
For me to fantasize
About falling into your eyes
While I desperately disguise
The words I say?
For fear I'm too intense,
Overwhelming every sense
Putting you on the defense
As things get too dense
Until you push me away...
But it's true;
I do
Want you
In my arms
So tight,
Day and night,
It just feels right
Within your charms.
I'm finally
Accepting
It's okay to dream,
I'm finally
Believing
It's okay
To try to be happy.
I'm trusting
You to be
Whatever you want to be
And trying
To be happy
With whatever
That means.
