Dissonance
It clouds my thoughts
yet enlightens my understanding.
It influences my decisions
pulls at my emotions
brings me up for that small duration.
My soul feeds off that better feeling condition.
I live to hear that chorus pulsing in my mind
To hear that melody coursing through my blood
To feel that beat pounding in my ears
rebounding as my surroundings melt in front of me
leaving me with only the sound of this beauty.
To feel those lyrics lift my spirit up
inspiring me to never reach my peak,
rather
go further than I’m capable.
To feel that shiver
down my spine
as the final note is played and I am complete with a smile.
I’m an aspiring addict
“band geek” has been in my title since fifth grade.
headphones are branched from my ears as if they were a part of my body.
lyrics and rhymes are constantly bouncing around in my brain ready to escape
their confinement and be put to a beat.
harmonies eventually pump from my heart more than blood itself.
All day I think of that harmony running through my veins: that sweet, numbing satisfaction of relief. I lay down on my bed, the lights are dim and the whole world fades away and I finally reach that resolved high.
