Half-Empty
I auctioned my heart at Bonhams
and bargained my shoes for bagels on ol' Brick lane.
I tasted music at Petticoat Market
and drove you to the Camden quay
but those days have drifted from my 'tips,
they mean all but nothing to me.
I drowned in the Thames
and lost my mind in the V and A Museum of Childhood.
The Tate was far too Modern
but it looked me in the eyes
and saw my many souls.
They meant all but nothing to me.
I wined and dined for Princess Diana's Fountain
and envied the Horse Guards Parade.
I danced with a Dodo at the Natural History Museum
and laid my head before the screens of Imax.
When I accepted my drowning in the Thames, dreaming of the Ritz,
they meant all but nothing to me.
and bargained my shoes for bagels on ol' Brick lane.
