Insomnia

Insomnia how you allure me
as tears run over my cheeks,
Insomnia you are destroying me
With your sweet, peasant breath
tainted with the stranger's creeks.

Insomnia I look forward to your nightly visit
as I sit watching trashy tv
that seeps through my mind
leaving it's trail of utter crap,
insomnia you've made me so alone
for while everyone is sleeping
I interrogate the world.

Insomnia I love you
but I would love to go to sleep
to only be so lucky...
When I rest against ones cold chest.

Insomnia you're making me wonder why?
Too hot,too cold,
another smoke, a glass of wine.
My breathing deepens
as I drift to another thought
one after the other
all involving you.

Insomnia as morning rises
It dawns on me,
just as every other day
I was expected to rise
but those of you whom expect this of me
obviously didn't undergo the mental torture
last night had in store for me.
