i didn't mean to hurt you,
it wasn't my intent at all.
my past always haunts me,
that's my shadow on the wall.

searching in the dark,
you were the light that
guided my way.
unable to find you,
i let our love die in vain.

now the writing's on the wall,
it said to set you free.
and i can see by the sadness
in your eyes,
that it's time for me to leave.
so i'll put you in my heart,
and wear it on my sleeve.
a mute reminder,

everything's come full circle,
