What Never Was and Never Will Be
Something dark and intrinsic
Speaking words to a roughed up soul
Waiting for another ball or shoe to drop
From such an unsuspecting hand.
Swearing upon an unforsaken soul
For a feeling that is meant to be.
Gone is the liar
Tainted flesh thrown upon the pire
Flames extinguished
Behind sleepless bloodshot eyes.
Can you take a breath?
Another single minute
To uncompromise
What we are?
As humankind, in our very nature
The majority choose to live
When a broken few
Wish to die.
It's that black thing
The evil we all harbor inside
Beat it back to submission just to live
Struggle until you have nothing else to give.
What is to come will be decided
When you stop trying to fight this
Embrace and build upon what you are.
Only then will you see,
The uselessness of that dark fog
It tries to control your every move and simple word.
What is unseen is that the beholder
Can rid one's self of the catalyst
One for unending pain and grief that's suffered
Soon you will no longer dwell upon or even see
What Never Was and Never Will Be.
Speaking words to a roughed up soul
Waiting for another ball or shoe to drop
From such an unsuspecting hand.
Swearing upon an unforsaken soul
For a feeling that is meant to be.
Gone is the liar
Tainted flesh thrown upon the pire

Behind sleepless bloodshot eyes.
Can you take a breath?
