Happy Birthday to Me
Girl, you're another year older
And you've grown meek instead of bolder
Where's that fire down deep inside
Don't let your rage just fade and hide
Today just let it burn the pain away
Hopefully the pain and the anger will go away
Girl, don't cry over any boy
Remember we don't cry over broken toys
Wake up with a fake smile on your face
And put your big panties on, the ones with the lace
Just remember that somewhere out there people love you
And somewhere out there there is a guy who is loyal and true
Maybe it will be different a whole year from now
But don't count on it, for the things we count on fall apart somehow
Happy Birthday to me
I love everybody
no one cares that I cry
That I wish my birthday hadn't come by
And you've grown meek instead of bolder
