Can we talk about the fact you're breaking my heart?
A whole year later, all over again
with your "tall, dark, troubled, & on the mend"
I'm just as in love with you as I've always been
 
You talked me through the worst night of my life  
said"don't you worry about those other guys
they don't see you like I see you, if they did, you'd know"
You say things like that, so why did you let me go?  
 
I'm not trying to make a scene,
or be a drama queen
but you can't come around like this
unless you're wanting me
I can't go on in between  
either love me or let me be
 
My friends didn't always understand your ways  
I never cared, you made me laugh, I liked your strange
Everything you were, I could find a way to love
except the way you ended things and cut me off
 
Until some months later on your birthday  
We reconnected when I wished you a good day  
you said you'd been thinking of me for some time
but was an ass, & weren't sure how to open the lines
while that's all well & good, I want it understood
I'm not playing for a maybe, or a if only you could
