Piety, Providence, and the Prescient Holy Ghost

He had doubted the mythic miracle and wondered, (sometimes aloud) about the angelic,
about translocation and transfiguration, piety, providence, and the prescient Holy Ghost.
The story, well known, the tradition well established, and the truth was plain to see.
He found he was somewhere on the Erythraean Malabar Coast
on that bright morning.
He now had time to think and pray-In nomine Patris et Filii et Spiritus Sancti
and that mattered most.

“Hail Mary full of grace…” kneeling and giving thanks on that incandescent solemnity.
“Kyrie Eleison, Lord have mercy…” he tried to remember humility.
The Real Presence, the Holy Mass, Heaven touches earth in that mystic liturgy,
entering into that great cloud chorus; and witness incense prayers ascending
on that bright morning.
A prayerful sacrament rising-In nomine Patris et Filii et Spiritus Sancti
to the Sapphire Throne.

But Saint Thomas the Apostle did evangelize the Indus on that great commission.
He received the blessing and was bestowed the apostolic succession
with fearful anticipation of the celestial through his mask glass darkly.
Now he wondered (sometimes aloud) not only of piety and providence but of provision
on that bright morning.
He saw and touched the hands and feet-In nomine Patris et Filii et Spiritus Sancti
oh of little faith.

Transformed, transfigured he received the special grace…
he now only witness to Marian assumption and ascension.
And he marveled as he wondered (sometimes aloud) about the angelic face
about piety, providence, and the prescient Holy Ghost
on that bright morning.
The sign of the cross he did trace-In nomine Patris et Filii et Spiritus Sancti
and doubted no more.
