Stolen Moments
Every so often,
when the kids are in bed,
dinner dishes are clean and put away;
while the dogs are napping in a corner
and you sit quietly reading,
I steal a glance your way
and smile at memories past.
Every so often,
when I wake before you
morning sunlight gently brushes your face
I watch you quietly sleep beside me
and cannot help but wonder why
God blessed me with your love,
and smile at moments yet to be.
